Third Watch - Benefit Events
This page is dedicated to our tournaments and Benefit events. We look forward to playing in these events, because #1 they are to raise money for great organizations, and #2 they are lots of fun!
March 11, 2001
Mike S. played against the retired Boston Bruins.  Each team in our league was asked to send one player for the game. Mike's name was chosen from a hat.  The charity that they  played for is, the local youth hockey organizations and the Brewer Hockey Boosters.
March 16-18, 2001
We played in a tournament in Winslow  (Sukee Arena). This is an invitational tournament hosted by the Exchange Club in Waterville. We played in the "Class B" category. Due to many of our regular players unable to play we picked up some players from Mike Y's team in Augusta. Unfortunately we went 0-3 for the weekend but we did manage to have a good time.

January 25th & 26th, 2002
Third Watch played against the Philadelphia Chiefs. The games were played in Rockport, Maine. All proceeds ($4,400.00) went to the FDNY widow's & Children's Fund. This was the first 'Clash of the Ice Coast'.

March 10, 2002
  Steve V played in the annual retired Bruins game in Brewer, Maine. This was to raise money for the local youth hockey organizations. A member from each team in our league was selected to play in the game.
October 4th-6th, 2002
The 3rd Watch team played in the Great Pumpkin Tournament in Brewer, Maine. Money raised was for a scholarship fund to be given this year.
February 22&23, 2003
Third Watch traveled to Philadelphia, Pa to play in 2 games to raise money for Lt. Pete Minch of the Philadelphia FD. Lt. Minch was paralyzed while on duty. Approximately $2000.00 was raised for the foundation. This was the 'Clash of the Ice Coast II'.

March 9, 2003
Scott Bolduc and Steve VanDolman played in this year's annual Bruins benefit game. The game was played at the TJ Ryan center in Brewer. Money raised went to the Brewer Youth Hockey Program.
January 6-9, 2004
The Third Watch guys  traveled to Orlando, Florida to play in the 'Central Florida Firefighters Hockey Tournament', sponsored by the Central Florida Firefighters Hockey Team. Profits from the tournament will go to MDA (Jerry's Kids). The tournament raised $2000.00 for MDA.
The Third Watch team raised an additional $1050.00 for Philadelphia Police Officer Ray Plymouth. We won first place in our bracket and second place in the division.

October 25th 2003
The Boston Fire Department Hockey Club 'B Team' traveled to Bangor to play in a benefit event. We  played for Bangor Fire Department's Captain Frank Rollins and his wife Lynne. Lynne has been diagnosed with Cancer and  underwent treatments. Boston came out on top, but we raised $3,500.00.

'Clash of the Ice Coast III'
The Philadelphia Chiefs  traveled to Bangor for our third meeting. We  played for the Kiwanis Children's Charities. Together we raised $2,400.00, and had a great time doing it.

Third Watch guys were at the Bangor Lumberjacks game to raise money for MDA. We raised nearly $300.00 to be presented in Orlando, Florida. Members also participated in events that the Lumberjacks do between innings (Sumo wrestling) Way to go Steve & Tony!
October 2nd, 2004
Third Watch  hosted the Newport Rhode Island Firefighters, in Brewer Maine.
Newport won the game 7-3, but the teams helped raise $1000.00 for the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Third Watch offered their first annual hockey camp. This year was a great success, and we hope to make this an annual event to be held each July. 18 kids attended our 5 day camp, and we all had a great time, learned the game of hockey, skated hard and even made the coached work! All of the profits from this camp will be donated to a youth hockey organization.
January 10-13, 2005
The Third Watch guys  traveled to Orlando, Florida to play in the 'Central Florida Firefighters Hockey Tournament', sponsored by the Central Florida Firefighters Hockey Team. Profits from the tournament will go to MDA (Jerry's Kids). We helped raise over $15,000.00. We finished last in our division.

The Third Watch guys  traveled to Philadelphia Pa, to play against the Philadelphia Police Department, in the annual 'Clash of the Ice Coast'. We raised $5000.00 for a scholarship fund, that was started by the family of a police officer killed in Iraq.

The Third Watch guys  traveled to Winslow, Maine. We played against the Waterville/Winslow youth hockey coaches. The game was to benefit the Hurricane Katrina fund. After a fun game we raised $1,500.00 + for the fund. We hope to make a yearly trip to help these folks raise money.

Third Watch offered our third annual hockey camp. This year was once again great success, and we hope to keep this annual event each July for the kids. 16 kids attended our 5 day camp, and we all had a great time, learned the game of hockey, skated hard and even made the coaches work! The Senior Little League World Series, that is held in Bangor & our team donated money to help them out from our profits.

The Third Watch guys  hosted the Fredericton New Brunswick - Police Officer's hockey club in Brewer. Funds were raised for the Kiwanis Children's Charities.

Third Watch hosted the Lewiston Firefighters in a benefit game for Bangor Firefighter Tim Campbell and Bangor Police Officer Randy Parsons. $2,000.00 was raised for the cause.

Third Watch played the Downeast School Dolphins to raise money for a fellow City employee, Jeff Simpson & his wife who have been diagnosed with Cancer. $2,824.00 was raised, and a check was presented to Jeff by Troy, at the Downeast School

Third Watch offered our fourth annual hockey camp. This year was once again great success, and we hope to keep this annual event each July for the kids. 11 kids attended our 5 day camp, and we all had a great time, learned the game of hockey, skated hard and even made the coaches work!

Third Watch played the University of Maine Women's hockey team, in broomball.. We played for Tonya, Andy, Madison and Camden Brown. We called this 'Camden's Cause'.
We had a good turnout, and we raised $2,200.00 for the cause. Third Watch won the game 3-1. Thank you to the University of Maine Women and their coaching staff.

May 7, 2008
Third Watch members played in a golf tournament to help the University of Maine Women's Hockey team, at Hermon Meadows in Hermon. We sponsored a hole and  put in 2 foursomes to help the ladies out.
Members who played were: Scott L, Nate S, Dave P, Troy L - and friends of the team: Shawn, Mike and Claude. Over $750 was donated by our members to the total amount raised by the tournament.
The foursome of Scott, Nate, Dave & Claude won the tournament with a score of 14 under par.

Third Watch played in the 6th annual Orlando Firefighters tournament. We played for the MDA. For more details and some photos - Click Here. The tournament raised $12,000.00.

Third Watch played the University of Maine Women's hockey team in the 2nd annual Broom Ball for Charity game at the University of Maine. We played for the Ronald MacDonald House of Bangor.

Third Watch played in the annual 'Old Timers' tournament at the University of Maine. Our team members of 35 will be playing with 3 additions to the team.
Our additions are: Louie Rosebush, Dan Lichterman (UMO Women's Coach and Paul Kulina (UMO head trainer).

Third Watch hosted their 6th annual Hockey Camp for Kids. It was held at the Penobscot Ice Arena in Brewer. This year was our biggest ever with 19 kids.
